Q

Does Trine subscribe to The Council of Foundations or any other foundation database?

My assignment is to seek grant funding and the sources I'm finding are not applicable to my organization or its need. It's for MSL course ECO6223 with Sylivia Juta. Thank you.

Answer

Hello,

We do not subscribe to that databse, however I believe you can find what you are looking for in Hoovers. You can find this by clicking, "Full List of Online Resources" under the main search box on the library home page, it will be under the Business & Communication heading. The best way to search this database for what you need is probably going to be by going to "Build A List" up at the top. This will let you input different criteria you are looking for and will filter out all of the businesses listed in Hoovers based on that. You can limit the list to Grantmaking Foundations by expanding the Industry dropdown and adding a Hoover's Industry to the list. One of their standard industry types is Grandmaking Foundation, so if you start to type that into the box, it should autofill for you. That still will leave over 21,000 grantmaking foundations, so you'll likely want to fill in other criteria based on what you are looking for. Please let me know if you need any additional help with this or if you have any questions!

Thanks,
