Q. what is required for the associates in science? Specifically, where it says that you need 20 hours in Math or Science, does that mean the 20
Answer
The requirements are as follows:
Course Requirements
General Education – 22 hours:
Communication – 6 hrs.
Humanities & Social Sciences – 6 hrs.
Mathematics – 3 hrs.
Science - 4 hrs.
Other – 3 hrs.
Content Requirements – 20 hours:
Mathematics or Science courses
Student must complete an area of emphasis which includes 20 total hours in either a science discipline or mathematics.
Additional Requirements – 18 hours:
University Experience - 1 hr.
Electives - 17 hrs.
Total: 60 hours
According to what is found on the Trine Website, 20 total hours must be spent in Math or Science Classes. This would mean that you could do a mixture of Math and Science classes but being a science degree you would potentially want to do more science classes. The combination that is worked out would be left up to you and your advisor. The advisor that you are assigned ideally would have recommendations on what would be most beneficial to you. This leaves the degree open ended, where you can choose what you want to get out of your degree. It all depends on what you want to do when you graduate.
Hope this helps!
